The paper doll series are mosaic outfits using tiles I have cut from art glass and a process I invented myself making my own tiles out of old recipes, poems I wrote, pages from books and maps of Paris. I set the paper behind tiny pieces of glass with a liquid plastic for durability, so it wont fade. This is the background. The "outfits" are from my imagination, old fashion magazines and my closet. The small outfits measure 5"x10" ($98.) and the big party dresses 8"x13"($125.) The collages are made from paper collage and painting with bits of snipped old tin (one has a tin dress nailed on). All are made on wood. |
